LIN: I’m Lin Davis. I was born in Denver, and raised in Richland, Washington and Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1967, just like a salmon, I felt the call to the San Francisco Bay area. So I drove my little red VW bug to San Francisco and lived there for almost 30 years of amazing LGBTQ history. Then I met Mo on a street in Oakland where we were both walking old dogs. We got married, and then looked for a new place to live, and came to Juneau in February 1993.

MO: I’m Maureen Longworth; my nickname is Mo. I grew up in Los Angeles. When I graduated in 1984, I moved to the San Francisco Bay area. I got a job in a clinic, which changed my life. I decided to go into pre-med and become a doctor. I’ve worked as a doctor in San Francisco and here in Juneau.

“My dad said at the microphone, that day of our marriage, ‘May all the barriers for you, and against people like you, fall away. And may all the love you have for one another be reflected back to you, all the days of your lives.’”
